Smita and Dominique Cling to the Edge of The Baby Cliff
THE BABY CLIFF is a phrase coined by the filmmakers Dominique Keller and Smita Acharyya to describe the point in a woman’s life where she needs to decide whether or not to take the plunge into motherhood.
We want you, the audience, to collaborate with us as we create THE BABY CLIFF films are a series of fictional comedy shorts, founded on the premise:
When did motherhood stop being the natural next step and instead become a perilous cliff that some women recklessly throw themselves off of while others perch frozen on the edge?
We are 30-something, female and undecided about kids. We live our lives on the edge of THE BABY CLIFF. One false move could end it all. Letting go could mean the end of our Lattés, girls’ nights out and hard won careers. After more than a decade of looking down, we know the time to let go is now-or-never….
